What to know about Crazy Egg

Crazy Egg is a website optimization platform combining heatmaps, session recordings, A/B testing, and traffic analysis. Founded in 2006, it's one of the original heatmap tools. Unlike Hotjar (recording/feedback focused), Crazy Egg includes built-in A/B testing and traffic segmentation — allowing teams to not only identify problems but also test solutions. Used by 400,000+ websites including Dell, GM, and Etsy for conversion rate optimization.

The verdict

Our take on Crazy Egg

Best heatmap tool with built-in A/B testing. Crazy Egg lets CRO teams diagnose conversion problems and test solutions in the same platform — avoiding the need to switch between a heatmap tool and a separate A/B testing tool.
