What Hobby includes
The page lists: import your repo and deploy in seconds, automatic CI/CD, a Web Application Firewall, a global automated CDN, Fluid compute, DDoS mitigation, and traffic and performance insights. The comparison table shows 1M CDN requests a month and 100 GB of Fast Data Transfer a month included on Hobby, and up to 3 custom firewall rules.
What Pro adds
Pro includes all Hobby features plus:
- $20 of included usage credit
- A flat-rate CDN with traffic spike protection
- Advanced spend management
- Team collaboration and free viewer seats
- Cold start prevention
- A free custom domain
The comparison table also raises the firewall limits to up to 40 custom rules, and spend management lets you set a limit and get alerts so usage stops before you go over budget.

When to upgrade
- You work with a team. Team collaboration and viewer seats are Pro features.
- You want spend controls. Advanced spend management is part of Pro.
- You need predictable CDN costs. Pro uses a flat-rate CDN with traffic spike protection.
- You have compliance needs. SCIM, managed WAF rulesets and the 99.99% SLA are Enterprise.
Before relying on Hobby for a commercial project, read Vercel's own terms for the plan, because the pricing page describes Hobby for personal projects and does not spell out commercial-use rules.
